Creating Engineering Careers

For the last few years we have been working closely with a number of colleges across the Yorkshire & Humber region, offering job placements to apprentice engineers who are looking for a career in mechanical engineering.

At Eco we work with apprentices to ensure the right framework is in place to succeed, having senior engineer buddies to nurture their development and also to ensure that as a business we offer a good balance of practical training at our premises in Brough, as well as on-site experience to compliment their college work.

It’s an exciting time to be an apprentice engineer with Eco – the business has recently invested in a new training facility which will enable apprentice engineers to develop and hone their skills, mirroring some of the many core tasks they may be required to undertake at our customer sites’, with expert supervision from our trainers and senior engineers.

Our work placements also give apprentices not only an opportunity to work here in the UK but some of our projects take place in Europe, which would mean there would be a requirement to travel with the wider engineering team.

Our goals are clear for all our apprentice engineers:

  • To provide them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the workplace and take them a step closer to realising their career ambitions.
  • Identify those who will thrive in our working environment and offer them full time employment as fully trained mechanical engineers.
